| | (Post a comment) » Top 10 PC GamesJakub thought deep and long about what the top 10 PC games of all time would be. How to categorize them? We tried Top 5 multiplayer and Top 5 singleplayer. How much credit to give for originality, or for fun factor? How important was popular appeal? Should we reward games that didn't sell well? All these questions and more are answered. Oh... and somehow, Jakub fit 12 games into a top 10 list. Read on to find out which ones made the cut! | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

Black & White should be #1. It is SimCity and a whole lot more.

Half of you Kiddies, I repeat kiddies dont realize this is an all
time listing. Most of these game innovated particular features and
gameplay types WAY before things like HF CounterStrike.
Theres more to a great game than eye candy.

I can't BELIEVE DOOM isn't on the list. Or pong... gotta have pong
and doom.. Why you ask? Beacuse pong was the first video game.
okay.. that was easy so why doom. Becuase doom more or less (yea i
read the thing on quake) was the frist game Ever to sport 3d
grapics. As for games with story... have you ever played system
shock 2, i have never incounterd a game with a better done story.
Period.

I would have like to see a top 12, so he could insert Rainbo Six
(R6). It was the very first FPS game to make you as vulnerable as a
human is and use real world HRT (hostage rescue team) tactics. Also,
the story is highly plausible. Even if we had to read (or listen) to
know what the story was, it was pretty intriging and involving.
Aslo, the multiplayer match were now a little slower, due to the
fact that on well placed shot could kill you, brought a new genre
besides the usual run and gun of most FPS online. Also, I was please
to see FreeSpace 2 as the 3rd best single player game. The story was
great, much better than in the first installement. Too bad Interplay
won't sell their rights to THQ (owner of Volition, the studio behind
FS and FS2). We still want to know what happen to Bosch and his ETAK
project, we want to know what has happenned with the Shivans, will
there be a 3rd Great War or somekind of a new evolution for the
humans with the Shivans, what really happenned to the Sol system
after the SD Lucifer got destroy, did we get back to Sol after
building a Knossos portal? I really hope to see a follow up of this
one, even if the FS2 Community is very much involved in this part.

hmmmm.... These ratings are whacked out. Half these games were
hardly popular and some of them just plain suck. This guy
apparently is new to the gaming scene or just doesnt have a clue...
