 Tiger Woods Out...Until August!
 |

| | (Post a comment) » E3 2005: 1C GamesWe're opening our thought-out E3 coverage with what we consider to be the surprise publisher of the show, 1C Company, from Russia. Featuring a very strong World War II theme (seriously), 1C is also offering an interesting Privateer-style game called Parkan II and a Vietnam War helicopter simulation that is not only accurate, but doesn't have the player lonewolfing as he did in Jane's Longbow. Did we mention the 98 screenshots? | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

Well I for one like the WWII games. Im sure there are plenty of
titles for those of you that have other prefs.
Ive been awaiting this game for quite some time now. When I first
stumbled over it it was to be called "Wartime Command" and
should have been published by Codemasters. I thought the screenshots
looked great and the ambitions was up there. And as the developers
was the team behind IL-2 it promissed to be a great game.
One deadline after another did come and go and suddenly the game
seemed to disapere. Codemasters dont mention it any more and I
thought Id never would see it again. -It would have been such a
pitty.
Anyway suddenly I see this webbpage - the same developers - the same
game - but another name. Planed release date 4Q 2005. Eureka!! But
at the same time - should I belive it this time? I cant see the name
of any publisher. What happened Maddox/1C and the relations with
Codemasters? Will the game hit the market this time? Is there realy
a game or are there just cool screenshots?
I would real want to know where to get a copy of this game.
Yours
/Faidros

Maybe give credit where it is due... to the developers, not the
publisher?

"Parkan II is a free-form space game"
YES!!!!!!!!! This is what we need more!!!! Freespace and
Privateer/Freelancer style games kick $@# (but historically don't
sell well for some screwy reason). Now can anyone imagine how awsome
these space games would be when done with a PPU?

Actually, they're quite interesting concepts. I wouldn't have
written so much about them otherwise.

Sure, it's more WW2 but done right this time! :-P Besides, only two
of the covered games are WW2, don't forget the Vietnam chopper sim,
futuristic game, and a horror/survival FPS.
Btw, Jakub, nice of you to cover these little gems. Definitely
looking forward to them. :-)
