| | (Post a comment) » Jakub's Rant: Xbox 360 and PS3 at E3Microsoft and Sony entered E3 with trumpets blaring, speakers on full blast and made a ton of noise. But did they deliver? Microsoft had the Xbox 360 on the show floor, accessible to anyone, while Sony had pretty pictures and CGI videos. Why didn't Microsoft win the showdown then? Shut up, your a knob im english i know what im talking about
revolution sucks, GTA is one of the most creative and imaginitive
games ive ever played and took alot more effort to make than mario
did. Mario is a classic but why would any one want to ride around on
a turtle car when you can play gta sa fly an aeroplane and pick up a
cheap whore.

I just setup a Pluto Home system (smarthome + media server,
plutohome.com, free open source). It’s really cool. It has a
streaming movie server, music server, pvr. Plus it does home
automation and controls a/v equipment too. There’s only 1 problem…
You designate 1 PC to be the server; they call it the core. It
exposes a network boot image for any other PC in the house, so your
PC becomes dual purpose—normal pc, or net boot and it’s a set top
box. You control it with Bluetooth mobile phones or web pads. And
all the set top boxes in the house work together. Your media even
follows you as you move from room to room if you keep the phone on.
The problem is I don’t have enough media pc’s for all the rooms in
my house, and buying a full PC for each room is too expensive. Plus
there’s no video cards for the PC that have component video
output—which is the only way I can get HDTV into my tv.
The X-Box seems perfect as a media director. It’s a PC inside,
right? So why couldn’t it boot like normal as an Xbox, or net boot
as a pluto media director? Then it would be part of a whole house
solution that did everything. I could even use the Xbox to turn on
my sprinklers if I wanted, and do all sorts of stuff with it. Plus,
since Pluto gives it a network boot image, space is no longer an
issue—all the software could be stored on the main server. And the
XBox has component video and it’s quiet and cheap.
Does anybody have an idea if it would be possible to use the XBox as
a media director like that, doing a network boot? Then I could just
buy a few of the XBox’s rather than having to buy regular PC’s.

So Sony lied at E3 2005? I wouldn't be surprise. But EA and Epic
Lied too? That's hard to swallow. The Nvidia RSX isn't ready so
they are running on dual 6800 ultras. The cell is ready and was
present at E3 running several realtime demos.
The duck demo was realtime, so was the Fight Night, Unreal Engine
Demo, and The Cell Demos with the Leaves, and Landscape. These were
very impressive running on alpha hardware.
Now, unless I am naive, I was tricked and all three major companies
lied. Maybe you have some insight. Other major trusted site failed
to mention this. If it is true, then clarify. Don't expect
intelligent readers to accept mere assumptions that go against the
grain of proof.

***Why don't you read the post I was responding to you moron.***
I read all 6 pages, thank you very much (I am not like some people
who come in on page 4 and start a rant).
***Then you will see everything you said makes no sense.***
Actually EVERYTHING I said made sense. Whether or not you agree is
up to you.
***I was just putting the smack down on some Sony or MS fanboy with
the kneejerk reaction of Nintendo=kiddie.***
Well the general consensus of the "Nintendo=kiddie" logic
stems from Nintendos own actions, not because one day some body
started to rant on a message board. :-P
And just FYI, putting the "smack down" works SO much
better when you can use some sort of logic. Mindless bashing only
makes you look like a kid.
***Just because your video game isn't softcore #$!! doesn't mean it
is kiddie.***
I totally agree. Had "YOU" read what "I" had
said you'd see I am in agreement. Although your logic seems to be
mature games suck, non mature games rule. Not true by any means.
***Anyone looking to get their sexual thrills from a video game
doesn't have a life, and I'm sure that includes you judging on your
long winded rant.***
Again apparently you didn't read what I posted (I guess you got too
angry from me laying the aforementioned "smack down"). My
long winded rant had very little to do with mature games (which I
said my piece on, which you would know had you bothered to read my
post)...tsk, tsk...temper, temper..lol..
My two cents,
kevin
P.S. In case anyone missed it, the person I am replying to felt the
need to go to MSN and register the e-mail name

Actually you didn't "piss off" anyone. I found your
comment humerous and felt the need to respond. And *GASP*, I did
without mindless bashing or name calling. What are the odds?
(oh yeah that's right, I AM over 13) :-P
If "anything", YOU are the one I made angry (judging by
the nasty little e-mail you sent me).
Real mature of a manager for the "2nd largest liquor
chain" to go to MSN and resgiter the name
kevinbroussardisgay@hotmail.com
I will let your own actions speak for themsleves..lol..
My two cents,
kevin

I think I'll pass. Are you angry because I used more than 4 letters
to say what I did?..lol..
My two cents,

P.S. By the way everyone, the person I made angry felt compelled to
send me a "nasty little e-mail" and went so far as to use
the e-mail name kevinbroussardisgay@hotmail.com
Go figure. :-P

Quite a vitriolic little article, filled with sneering and very
little in the way of content.
Maybe you should've saved this one for the messageboards Jakub.
That said, please make a note to 'bookmark' this review and pull it
back out when the consoles are released and and give us an update on
how justified the arrogant and condescending tone throughout the
whole article was.
