 Tiger Woods Out...Until August!
 |

| | (Post a comment) » Howdy!Yes folks there is a new person working at FiringSquad. As Brandon stated in his intro a few minutes ago, my name is John Callaham (or JCal if you want to call me by my long time Internet nick) and my primary job will be to post up the latest news on gaming and hardware on the site. I will also be doing gaming oriented previews, interviews and feature stories. I've been doing this kind of a job full time for the past six years at various web sites but I'm really excited to come on board FiringSquad which has been around for a long time and already has a massive audience. My thanks go out to Brandon, Jakub and Pongky for making me feel welcome even before today's official start and major thanks to Dan Turner who emailed me one day out of the blue asking if I would be interesting in coming on board. I hope that I and my work will be worthy of this already experienced team.
As Brandon said I am on my way to the Game Developers Conference today (my flight leaves in about three hours) and I will be reporting from San Jose all this week. Indeed I've already got interviews completed with some major (and we mean major) game developers and they will be posted up all this week in addition to the articles from GDC itself. I can already tell you that there will be some major announcements coming from GDC this week, both from the hardware and gaming side, so stay tuned to FiringSquad; we will keep you updated from the show. | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

Hey JCal, I must say, earlier this week I was immensely surprised by
what looked to be some high quality GDC articles being posted on the
FS frontpage. A long time 'Anonymous' reader myself, I honestly
hadn't expected such content to appear and finally taking some time
to catch up on my readings, I am really impressed! I guess welcome
to FS? Haha, so I've just only finished your Gamebryo interview but
I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next few, thanks!

hmmm I don't know why you're saying that Thief 3 was a
disappointing. IMO it was very good game. Of course levels were much
smaller that in Thief 1 not to mention Thief 2 but I really felt
like playing the old, good thief game :D
I haven't played Deus Ex 2 and I'm not going to do that but I played
demo and yes, this one is a disappointment :-)

Any chance you could get some coverage of the Garage Games booth in
while you're there? They're supposed to be showing off their Legions
techdemo.

please bring some sort of decency (sp?) to the site seeing area. it
is getting over run by disgusting (although entertaining/interesting
at times) articles that are often worse that what anonymous posters
post, perhaps the creation of the "sick sh!t site seeing"
