Jump the shark doesn't mean when a show lost all interest (plus, a show doesn't lose interest a person loses interest in a show). Jump the shark is a phrase to characterize the singular moment something so retarded/awful happened on a show that people unanimously said, "WTF was that?" and started to regard the show with less respect and/or started feeling the writers have officially run out of ideas and no longer know what the fuck they're doing.

Just so everyone knows that phrase while invented long LONG ago was popularized to what it is now (ever notice it just got super popular in the last couple years?) by Carson Daly. Do you want to repeate what Carson Daly says?

You fucking kids and your fad buzz words just piss everyone off "That was hella' cool!"

"Lost" jumped the shark in one of the very first episodes, when the whatever-that-rattled-the-trees turned into a wee polar bear.

AND, in addition: You can't have a 'jump the shark' moment in the first episode. That's incorrect usage of the phrase.

Finally, if you think what was knocking the trees down and making all the racket was a polar bear you obviously haven't watch any of the show.

1) I didn't say it was in the first episode, but it was in one of the very first episode, learn to read and understand semantics, before criticizing on semantics.

2) "jump the shark" is a perfectly valid expression, as it is a defining moment at which the show lost all interest for a lot of people. Of course other people still kept watching, just like for the original jump the shark, but the "plot" was a dead empty dried mummified husk.

3) "Now please change your behavior to please me.". If you were a drop-dead gorgeous half-naked single girl, I might consider it. If you were very rich, near death and looking for someone to give your money to, I might consider it. So, what do you have to offer? ;)

'jump the shark' is one of the worst ways to describe something and it actually makes me physically angry when people use it.

So does 'with that said'. Now please change your behavior to please me.

My money is on the Dallas style cop-out ending: They all wake up in the airport before they ever got on the plane, having just had a multiseason shared delusion.
