The entire experience, from story to graphics to sound to gameplay to optimization.
The physics engine is really jawdropping. Electrocuting a person lets you watch them writhe in insanely realistic post-mortem breakdance. Powerlines sway and snap in the wake of flying ships. The list goes on.

For all its optimization, you still need a serious power-rig if you want to run high options. Using a 2-year old machine, the game cruised along at 800x600, aside from two scenes which featured lots of NPCs and bullets whizzing around. This was a pretty minor detractor to the overall experience.

Just incredible. The level of detail is literally unmatched in any other game. The vision of the future (which seems about 4 years away at this point) is creative and believable. In short, it's everything Doom3 should have been. |
