-Great story line
-A good mix of the freak out levels (fun house) unlike the last time when there was too many of these.
-I play alot of singleplayer games, but rarely finish them out of boredom, so well done with Max Payne 2 for keeping me interested throughout.

-As far as gameplay goes, plays alot like first one, but this story line progresses alot better, so if you liked the first one, you'll for sure like this.
-Graphics don't look spectacular or anything, looks just like the first game.
-[Spoiler]I always find the last level with having to play a puzzle shooting game kinda lame.

Now I must admit, I didn't play the original max payne all the way through. It just dragged on too long. And that's what I really liked about this one. It was short and too the point. Always keeping me interested and just enough plot to resemble a good movie - not over twisting everything to extend it. So although alot of complaints are about short gameplay, I agree, but I didn't find that a problem. When I play a single player game (rarely) I want a good experience, not 50 hours, or 100 hours of gameplay value. Their job was to entertain me, and they did a damn good job of it.
Game gets an 88, great game, nothing to negative to say about it, but it doesn't quite get a groundbreaking above 90 score. |
