-I love the concept of mass multiplayer... no game has done it right IMO, but a first person shooter is a step in the right direction.
-Awesome when you get into large strategic back and forth battles on a continent, makes the whole game worth while.

-Graphics take a huge hit on your pc for not being that much
-Alot of empty space, and at times it's near impossible to find a good battle.
-Some of those "good battles" can take 3-6 hours to fight, so it eats alot of time quickly, not good for a casual gamer.

Overall, I must say, I loved the game, I got addicted to it for a month, but it does wear thin after that. But any game that mantains my interest for that long is good IMO.
On the other hand, the monthly fees are very lame. I bought this game when the box costed $70!!! And you only get 1 month with that, total BS. For about 20 days of play 3 hours a day (alot of play) It comes out to more than a dollar an hour to play the damn thing.
I loved the idea, and it WOULD be a fun game to come back to once and a while and switch it up. But when your paying monthly fees for it, you gotta get what you can out of it, and it does grow old when you play it like that.
Maybe a different paying scheme would work better ($20 = 50-100 hours of play???), if it were up to me, buying the box should equal unlimited play, especially for $70, but whatever.
I've also been having problems with sony lately, and they just give you the run around and don't try to solve issues, so Sony gets a 0%, but planetside gets an 80%, please boycott sony, I will never pay another $ for a sony game again. |
