Clean board layout, quality parts, nVidia nForce 500 single chip solution chipset, sturdy board material, more features than most users (all but extreme gamers) will require or use (What the heck is RAID 0, 1, 5 anyway ?). Looks cool but most important runs FAST using an AMD Athlon64 X2 4200+ 2.2GHz Windsor (65W) Dual-Core cpu OCed to 2.5GHz and it's very STABLE with 1GB PC2-800 memory and a WD400BD SATA 3.0 40GB HDD PLUS there's SLI graphics. But even with one high-end graphics card this motherboard performs. I remember reading online someone calling the K9N4 SLI-F a HotRod. I agree. Well Done MSI ... thanks

the two PCI-E slots are 8X but when running in SLI mode. Other than that, can't find any cons to report about

the two PCI-E slots are 16X but when used in SLI mode with two graphics cards it becomes 8X. I haven't tried the SLI yet but reviews say the 8X makes no real difference, perhaps 2-3 FPS in some games. Other than that, can't find any cons to report about. If you're looking for a good platform to build a mid-range gaming rig this mobo is a smart choice. |
