- Overclocked right out of the box.
- Runs any game fast and smooth.
- eVGA tech support is just great.
| » Cons | | |
- Price is extremely high.
- eVGA released a BIOS update for the card that lowers the clock frequencies back to 450/850 because of stability issues.

I just got my eVGA GeForce FX 5900 Ultra yesterday, and after reading the other user reviews of this card, I felt compelled to write my own review.
First off the noise level is not bad. After have an eVGA e-GeForce 4 Ti4600 with their "special" heatsink cooling system, I can assure you that the noise levels aren't bad. The heatsink on eVGA's GF4 Ti4600 looked cool and worked well, but the noise that it produced was a whine, air flowing, whistle sound. The FX5900U is not loud what so ever in my system. Mainly because I have 4 case fans that cover any noise that the FX may make. Not saying that my machine is loud but I ran a test yesterday where I disconnected my 4 case fans and only had the FX fan running and my Zalman cpu fan running, and the noise levels weren't bad at all.
Basicly if you like nVidia cards and their drivers and are used to working with nVidia cards, this is a great card to get if you have the money. If you are a number cruncher and you want nothing but the highest 3dMark scores and all you do is bench mark all day long then go have some fun with an ATI card. I'm not dogging ATI because I do in fact like what ATI is doing with their Radeon series. And their image quality is fantastic.
I mainly got this card because I had a Step-Up plan with eVGA in which I only ended up paying $100 for this card. So for $100, I think I got one hell of a deal! |
