Hi.
I have computer experience. I never met a video card pretended to be good to act so poor as this one. I would not recomand it to anyone. I would give mine away, but I am too stubern and for about six months now, I did everything possible to make it work nice on my system: AMD, Athlon 2100+ XP, 512 MB RAM, 80 GB HDD, Windows XP Profesional (2600).
With the original BIOS, the video card was causing frecvent crashes (black monitor) at diferent moments after start-up, specialy if some rendering was needed.
I tried many things... so as a last step, i flash-ed the BIOS. With the new BIOS, the video card generates a very unclear image and some time, if i try to change some setings, it freeze the computer.
Windows XP is blaming everything on the card or on it's drivers (nv4disp), but i tried every driver version for nvidia geforce fx 5200 from the last 3 years, including those that are not microsoft signed.
I would recomand nVidia, but not BGF Asylum, even if nVidia may be the wrong one. Hard to know. Thank you for reading. |
